Our current Builder Industry - Adam Zaretsky

May 15, 2020

Appliance Canada is here to support builders in the time of COVID-19.

I bet all of us collectively in the builder group dream about a time when the only stress we had were a few project delays and back orders. Covid has slowed down our industry’s rate and speed to supply a finished product. With that being said, It has not cancelled any current or future projects at Appliance Canada.

Recently, the Ontario government announced a list of businesses and services that could resume operations under strict health and safety protocols. Although it is good to hear that business is resuming, the direct impacts of this pandemic remain. Even as this industry reemerges, there could be shortages, work interruptions or delays that will continue to affect project time frames for construction or delivery of a new home. These are crazy times.

We’ve learned a lot these past few months. We’ve realigned our resources, addressed health concerns with proper social distancing and we have come out of this more determined than ever to head-off this virus. Above all we learned that we need to work together to make this industry flow again.

Appliance Canada has been operating for over 35 years and we have been through many ups and downs. I do believe our industry will start to rebound in Q1 of 2021 and strengthen into 2022 and beyond. Covid-19 has highlighted the importance of our industry to the economy and our critical role in providing new homes for Canada’s growing population.

In these times we must be resilient, work smarter and most of all support each other and do our part to help our industry remain strong.
